Born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Dawne is an old soul with a sanctified sound. Singing since the age of 3, Dawne quickly became known for her ability to interpret and personalize songs. Her instinctive skill of vocal storytelling is compelling and unmatched. Dawne Cole’s vocal skills are reminiscent of the great female singers from the Staxx and Motown eras, with a Praise & Worship twist. She has a big, big voice. Big enough to present a worship experience with the Holy Spirit that will excite, ignite and unite.

Dawne gained her vocal foundation singing with her aunt and cousins and was formally trained in high school and church. She later served as a church praise and worship leader for multiple churches in Illinois and sang across the United States with her childhood friends, known as the group Favoured.

She finally followed her calling to vocal ministry after experiencing a life-altering event. In February 2022 she released her first single, Run, and in July 2022 she released her debut EP, “This Is My Release”. Within the first year of her debut release, Dawne has established herself as a top emerging artist in the Gospel Music industry, having won the 2022 Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Gospel New Emerging Artist of the Year Award, 2023 Gospel Choice Music Awards CD Project of the Year, and 2023 Voices of Gospel Music Awards Traditional Album of the Year.

Currently, Dawne is preparing for the release of her sophomore EP/album, which is planned for release in October 2024. She will also be seen paying tribute to Pastor Marvin Sapp, along with Titus Showers, Brian Courtney Wilson, and Jekalyn Carr, when the 2024 Soar Awards are broadcast this June.
