Dr. John Tyus is an inspirational community leader, educator, author and pastor. He is the recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Social Justice Award of Ohio, 2022 Courageous Award, 2024 Central Ohio Honors Faith Leader Award. He has been recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives for his work to advance social change and is the executive director and founder of The I.D. Movement. Dr. Tyus’ heart focuses on the family as whole and believes the core to healing our nation starts with healing the family. Losing his father at the age of 8, he has a passion for the fatherless and aims to impact the lives of men across the country.

He founded a leadership and character development organization entitled “The I.D. Movement” aiming to Inspire and Develop fatherless black men into positive male models for their families and communities. The I.D. Movement has staged and produced community events and conversations such as The I.D. Movement Presents…A Conversation with the Fathers which gathered faith based leaders in the community to discuss their life stories, growing up without fathers and how to overcome adversity. Dr. Tyus and his community projects have been covered and featured on radio, news, and television outlets such as BounceTV, Joy 107.1, WBNS 10TV News, ABC Channel 6, Magic 95.5 and Telemundo. The I.D. Movement continues to serve the community through its Summer Holistic Approach Programming which partners with local churches and universities providing real life college experiences and week long programming in the areas of workforce, personal and character development. The I.D. Movement launched The I.D. Movement Experience in 2022 which is an annual conference focusing on the holistic development of the male.

Dr. Tyus has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a dual minor in Marketing and Management from Franklin University, he also obtained his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University and earned his Doctoral degree from The United Theological Seminary where the title of his dissertation was “Designing a Mentoring Program for Fatherless Black Males in a Post-Modern Generation”.

Dr. Tyus is a passionate presenter with a message to empower and inspire his audiences for years to come. Dr. Tyus is the author and publisher of 3 books “The I.D. Movement Presents; Voices of the Fathers; Letters to the Millennial Leader; Columbus Edition”, “Mind Elevation: A Guide to Improving Your Mental Diet in 30 Days”, & “Voices of the Sons; Letters from the Emerging Leaders; Columbus Edition” he also serves as Sr. Pastor at World Conquerors through Jesus Christ Ministries in Columbus, OH.
