Keenon Coleman, a budding Christian-Gospel singer and songwriter, does not seek to cater to one type of audience. His goal is that no one leaves the presence of God empty-handed.
His start, like many others, is rooted in the church. A native of Pine Bluff, AR, Coleman describes his familial upbringing as being surrounded by quartet and choir music. Age five is when his passion for gospel music started; by age 10, not only was he known for singing but had developed an interest in choir directing. Heavily influenced by Kirk Franklin and Richard Smallwood, Coleman founded the "Youth and Young Adult Future Generation Choir" (2011). Over the next five years of growing this organization, Coleman gradually realized that God was preparing him to begin another ministry—his own.
Keenon Coleman Ministries debuted in 2016, a leap of faith that catapulted him into the spotlight as a solo artist. Over the short span of his solo career, he's been named the Arkansas Gospel Music Heritage Month Solo Artist of the Year (2019) and is a multiple Rhythm of Gospel Award nominee (2022). His opener's performing credits include artists Ricky Dillard & New Generation, Kelontae Gavin, and Jekalyn Carr. Independently, he has released a single for three consecutive years: Psalm 61 (2021), Forever (2022), and Declaration (2023). His album, Declarations, is to be released soon. This year will mark the 7th annual “When Millennials Worship” conference. This 2-3 day event, created by Coleman, is a safe space for millennials in ministry to freely worship, cultivate gifts and positions while being mentored by ministry experts.
The past six years have aided Coleman in defining his style, sound, and reach. His prayer is for God's anointing to allow him to own any room he's in and be granted the ability to read an audience. A dualistic artist, Coleman's approach produces balance. His traditional, churchy style coexists with his ability to be reserved and spiritually flowing. As much as he exudes spontaneity, he also exudes control; every delivery is wrapped in youthful energy.
