Jacob Byerson Jr. was born June 18, 1969 in Beaufort SC. Both sides of his family were heavy into music. His maternal Great Grandmother and Grandmother were members of a very popular gospel group in the Low Country called the Heavenly Four. His two great Uncle's actually recorded in a very popular low country group called The Traveling Souls. At a very young age Jacob was taught to harmonize by his Aunts and Uncles. He learned to DJ at family outings at the age of four. He couldn't read but was able to play requests by looking at the label on the record. Growing up he was always singing and writing songs. He loved the great harmony of groups like the Spinners, Temptations, and the O'Jays to name a few. All through high school he continued to work on his craft, singing and writing. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Navy, where he made a vow that after his military service, he would dedicate more time in pursuing his musical goals. He attended music seminars in Nashville and Ohio to learn the music business. He also learned music production and vocal arrangements from going to different studios. In 1995 he met a gentleman named Ambassador Charlie Ray who gave him the opportunity to write and arrange and publish his first song for singer Terri Williams. After moving to Greenville SC, he formed the R&B group Two Deep and secured an audition with LaFace records. After the group dissolved, he met Khary Rose along with his military friend Mark Cheatham, he formed MJK ENTERTAINMENT. As a member of MJK ENTERTAINMENT and alone he has written and produced for many independent artists, such as Gwen Yvette, Stanley Ray Jr., Chase Money, Cadderson and W. Renae Lovett. Jacob is a gifted singer, songwriter, and producer that continues to build his brand along with his two partners. If anyone deserves an opportunity for a major production or publishing deal, Jacob Byerson Jr. Definitely qualify.
